How do I know if my child needs therapy?
Many parents are hesitant when it comes to seeking services as they are unaware where their child should be developmentally. Below are resources that provided a list of developmental milestones for your child’s age. For example, one indication of a language delay is if you have a two year old who does not have 50 words and is not combining two word phrases. The good news is, the earlier we diagnose a speech and language disorder, the greater the impact and progress we will see in your child’s development! These resources provided include ideas on how you can help your child’s development at home.
Developmental Milestones (0-5 years)
Will my child focus during a teletherapy session?
It is worth a try! Over the last year, I have worked with many children this way and the progress/participation has been incredible. I myself was hesitant at first but quickly noticed how much children were interacting during the sessions. Teletherapy has also been an excellent avenue for parent coaching. Feel free to sit in the sessions with your child if you feel they are not quite ready for independent therapy.
Will bilingualism affect my child’s speech and language skills?
There is no evidence to suggest that being bilingual will affect your child’s speech and language abilities. If a child does have a speech or language deficit, it will appear in BOTH languages. Learning more than one language will not cause a speech/language disorder or make it worse.
What is your cancellation policy?
Watch Me Grow must be notified of a cancellation via email, phone call, or text 24 hours before the time of service. We understand emergencies happens, so families are allowed two cancellations without a 24-hour notice per year. After this, a $45 fee will be charged for cancelling without a 24-hour notice.
